Apprenticeship Training Programme at CSIR-CSIO, Chandigarh
Up-gradation of skills is an important component of Human Resource Development. Training imparted in institutions alone is not sufficient for acquisition of skills and needs to be supplemented by training at the workplace. The Apprentices Act, 1961 was enacted with the prime objective to utilize fully the facilities available in industry for imparting practical training with a view to meeting the requirements of skilled manpower for industry.CSIR-CSIO, Chandigarh offers Apprenticeship Programme to Diploma & Graduate Engineering passed out students at a fixed monthly stipend who would like to upgrade their skills under the Apprenticeship Scheme, Govt. of India for a period of 12 months in various domains. This falls under the purview of the Apprentices Act 1961, Govt. of India. The subject fields accepted are enlisted below –
