Optics and photonics are the rapidly growing disciplines of the present times finding a wide range of applications in areas such as light detection, telecommunications, information processing, illumination, metrology, spectroscopy, holography, medicine, military technology, laser material processing, visual art, biophotonics, agriculture, geophysical research, space exploration and robotics. In the recent past these fields have witnessed significant progress in all these areas that also comprise of chemical synthesis, medical diagnostics, on-chip data communication, laser defense and fusion energy. Besides these, various newer frontiers are also emerging which include quantum information, opto-atomics, polaritonics, materials with engineered optical properties to name a few, wherein vigorous R&D activities are being pursued. The conference aims to provide a forum for interaction and exchange of ideas among scientists, engineers, researchers and users actively engaged in the domain of Optics and Photonics.
